We’re doing a series of blog posts where you can learn about all the awesome people that make up our Off The Wagon staff! As you might imagine, the people that work here are a little eccentric (just like the shop). We’ve asked everyone a couple of questions, and we think you’ll really enjoy hearing from each of them.
In this edition you’ll hear from Nate Sahr...which is me. For the past few years I’ve been helping out with the Off The Wagon website, including writing all of these blog posts. I also write product descriptions, upload pictures, edit videos, and all sorts of other little stuff. Occasionally during the Christmas season you can find me shipping packages from the shop’s backroom. Anyways, keep reading to hear a bit more about me.
Q: What are you passionate about?
I love music, both listening and creating it. I play a whole bunch of instruments, and I write and record songs too. I’m actually in college right now studying music production. I love it, working with music makes me feel alive.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to?
A bunch of different stuff, but my favorite genre is Indie Folk. Some of my favorite bands/artists are Big Thief and Sufjan Stevens. If you don’t know any of those, that's fine :)
Q: What’s your favorite part of working at Off The Wagon?
So my job here is a little different than a lot of the other employees. My favorite part of what I do is probably writing the blog posts because it's just really fun to write about all the goofy and stupid stuff we sell. I remember doing this one blog post about a rubber chicken cult and having a blast with it. I just kept laughing (at my own jokes), and I was getting paid for it! Can’t beat that!
Q: What are your top 3 favorite products we carry?
I love the Uranus Soap. It’s just so dumb, but it still makes me snicker every time. Maybe I’m just immature, but I think it’s hilarious.
I also enjoy the “I Fucking Love It Out Here” socks.
The Squirrel Underpants are just a classic. I remember hearing about the squirrel underpants when I was younger and thinking they were the best thing ever. I really wanted to actually put some on a squirrel, but it never happened (which is probably for the best).
Q: What’s your favorite game we carry?
I've been loving One Night Ultimate Werewolf. I only started playing it recently (a couple months ago). I like it a lot more than other versions of werewolf I’ve played (and if you’re not familiar with the game at all you should check it out) because it’s so quick. Games last only 10-15 minutes, so even if you play badly one game you get another chance soon. Plus, so many of the roles included are tons of fun to play.
Q: You just won an all expenses paid trip to Bigfoot’s mansion, and you get to spend a whole day with him. What do you think the two of you would do?
I feel like we’d go on a hike and just talk about life. I like hiking, and it seems like the kind of thing Bigfoot would be into as well. I’d also be interested in trying some of Bigfoot’s cooking because I feel like he’d be a really good cook (I could be wrong about that though). Mostly, I think I’d just sit back and listen to what he has to say. It’s not every day you get to chat with Bigfoot, and I feel like he’d have some really interesting stories to tell.
Hope you enjoyed that! We’ll be back soon with Get To Know blogs for other employees, and some other fun stuff too! In the meanwhile, check out our website for more stupid laughs and silly fun!
