Our Top 10 Board Games for Your Next Game Night!

OK, OK, we admit it. Most of us here at Off the Wagon are huge nerds. But we’re proud of that fact. We love playing board games for lots of reasons. First of all, most of them are really fun! They’re a great way to spend time with friends and family, and they’re a great way to show your friends and family just how much smarter than them you are. Apparently, being a nerd is cool now, and more and more people are getting into playing board games. So, we thought it would be a good idea to recommend our top 10 favorite board games. These games are so fun, even non-nerds will enjoy them! 

Settlers of Catan

Settlers of Catan is a board game classic, essential for any game collection. In this fun game, you build your own village on an island by producing and trading resources. A great introduction to strategic resource-management games, Catan is the perfect game to play when you want to delve into strategy but not spend hours learning rules!  

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

This fast-paced game is tons of fun for the whole family! Keep saying “Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza” as each player places a card in a group pile. When the card matches with the word you're saying, slap the deck! Whoever slaps lasts has to pick up a card. This game is quick, hilarious, and fun for kids and adults. 

Mysterium Park

An adaptation of the classic mystery game Mysterium, Mysterium Park is a smaller, faster version. We love the spooky, bizarre ambience of the game, amplified by the detailed illustrations of the game pieces! This game is perfect to play on a rainy night, as long as you have lots of friends with you.  

Kingdomino

A winner of multiple awards, we’re not the only people who love Kingdomino! This game is a fun twist on the classic Dominos (no, not the pizza). Match up tiles to build a high-scoring kingdom! We love some games just because they are relaxing and satisfying, and Kingdomino is one of those games.  

Cards Against Humanity

Do we even need to introduce Cards Against Humanity? This game is great for (adult) parties. Learn things about your friends you never wanted to know!

One of our best-selling games, if you love butts, you’ll love Butts in Space! In this simple and hilarious card game you’ll battle for toilet paper (...wait, did that actually happen?). This game is a great gift for the silly people in your life!

In this game, you need to stay on your toes - or they might get eaten! Fast-paced fun, in this game you are a pioneer stranded on a mountain. Coup

Coup is a game of equal parts strategy and social-manipulation. Coup is award-winning, and we can see why. It’s quick, easy to learn, and yet very complex! Bluff (and call your friends bluffs) to get ahead. Play one round, and you’ll be sure to play another, and another, and another.

Rabble

Rabble is a great party game with a fun twist! Each round, your team has to guess a word. Like the classic game “Fishbowl,” first you describe the word, then you use only one word, and then you have to act it out. But in Rabble, the opposing team can use challenge cards to make your life even more difficult (and ridiculous!) We love Rabble’s fun challenges and their hilarious terms to guess/describe like “Boxed Wine” and “Dumpster Fire,” that make the game even more fun!

Gloom

Glom is a sarcastic, ironic game perfect for people with a dark sense of humor! Play cards of misfortune to lower your character's Self-Worth Score as much as possible, while at the same time playing happy event cards to raise your opponent's happiness level. We love this game’s unique design with transparent cards and intricate artwork!
